How does the le’Chef crowdfunding work?
You choose a package (Starter 18 €, Supporter 38 € or VIP 78 €) or a custom amount and pay securely via Stripe. In return, you get 4 months of premium access (PRO, DELUXE or PRESTIGE) – cheaper than the regular subscription – and directly help fund the app's further development.
What do I get as a supporter?
Depending on your package, 4 months of LeChef PRO, DELUXE or PRESTIGE: up to 60 AI scans per month, all 8 chefs, your own AI recipes, voice chat and agentic cooking mode. Plus a supporter badge in the app and early access to new features.
When will the le’Chef app be available?
The app is fully developed and launches soon for iOS, Android and as a web app – submission to the App Store and Google Play is in progress. Supporters get their premium access at launch: it's activated via your payment email, so use the email of your (future) le’Chef account.
What can the le’Chef app do?
le’Chef combines over 6,000 curated recipes, 3 AI scanners, the AI cooking chat "Ask the Chef", voice control, weekly plan, pantry and a shared shopping list in one app – in 15 languages. Eight AI chefs, each with their own personality, accompany you from grocery shopping to the finished dish.
What does the le’Chef app cost?
Getting started is free: LeChef FREE includes 4 AI scans per month and 2 chefs. The premium tiers cost 4.99 € (PRO), 9.99 € (DELUXE) and 19.99 € (PRESTIGE) per month – with more scans, all 8 chefs, your own AI recipes and more voice chat.
How does the ingredient scanner work?
You photograph your ingredients, the AI recognizes them and instantly suggests matching recipes – including nutritional values. You can also photograph finished dishes or scan cookbook pages and import them as your own recipe.
Can I import recipes from Instagram or TikTok?
Yes. Just share the link to a cooking video from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook with le’Chef – the AI analyzes the video and creates a structured recipe with an ingredient list and steps from it.
What happens to my access after the 4 months?
Your access automatically switches to the free FREE version – nothing renews itself, and no follow-up costs arise. If you want to keep going, just get a regular subscription starting at 4.99 €/month.
Is my data safe?
Yes. The app data is stored GDPR-compliant on servers in Germany, and the AI features run via EU providers. Your input is never used for advertising or to train third-party models – and your recipes belong to you.
Is there a right of withdrawal?
Yes, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from the conclusion of the contract — no reason required. You receive an invoice by email automatically after the purchase. The full withdrawal information including the model form is in the terms.
What payment methods are available?
Credit card and SEPA direct debit – processed securely via Stripe. After the store launch, in-app purchases via the App Store and Google Play will be added.
What devices does le’Chef run on?
On iOS and Android, as well as an offline-capable web app (PWA) directly in your browser. The store launch is just around the corner – supporters get their access first.
Is there a free option?
Yes – LeChef FREE is free forever: 4 AI scans per month, 2 chefs (Maxime & Lola), plus AI chat and voice chat to get a taste of it. Premium starts at 4.99 €/month.
What if the funding goal isn't reached?
The app is already fully developed – it's coming either way. Every contribution speeds up the next expansion stages: more recipes, community features and new AI functions.
Can I support anonymously?
Yes. Just check the "Support anonymously" box at checkout – your name won't appear publicly anywhere.
When do I get access as a supporter?
At launch, which is just around the corner: your premium access (4 months of PRO, DELUXE or PRESTIGE) is activated as soon as the app launches – you'll be notified by email. It's activated via the email address you paid with.
Which email address do I need to provide when purchasing?
Ideally, the email of your le’Chef account: if you already have one, the premium upgrade automatically lands on your existing profile. If you're new, just register in the app with the same email you used to buy – your access will then be recognized automatically. Accidentally used a different email? Email support@lechef.ai and we'll match it up manually.
Can I save my own recipes?
Yes! Scan cookbook pages, import cooking videos from social media, or add recipes manually – up to 50 of your own recipes in your cookbook.
Are there family features?
Yes – you share the shopping list with up to 6 people in your household: they join via an invitation code, and checking items off applies for everyone.
Can I plan my week?
Yes – in the weekly plan, you set breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, and send the whole week to the shopping list with one tap. The pantry also shows you what you can cook from your existing supplies.
What languages is le’Chef available in?
In 15 languages – including German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese. Recipes and AI chat adapt to your language.
