2Data Collection on This Website

Server Log Files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in what are known as server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

Browser type and version
operating system used
referrer URL
hostname of the accessing device
time of the server request
IP address

Contact by email

There is no contact form on this website. If you write to us, we process your message and your address solely to handle your request and in case of follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or (b) for contract-related enquiries.

3Cookies

We use exactly one cookie, and only when you switch languages. There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this website — which is why you see no consent banner.

Language choice (lechef_locale)

Remembers the language you picked so you do not have to choose again on every visit. Expires after one year, contains only the language code (e.g. “en”) and is not passed on to third parties. Legal basis: Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

Checkout (lastPurchasePackage)

When you start a checkout, your browser remembers the chosen package so the confirmation page can display it. The entry stays on your device, is never transmitted and can be cleared in your browser settings. There is no analytics, advertising or recognition storage.

4Analytics and audience measurement

We measure nothing. There is no analytics tool, no usage profile, no recognition across visits and no sharing with advertising networks.

As with any web server, technical access data is generated (see server log files above). Cloudflare aggregates this into anonymous statistics — page views and countries of origin, with no link to a person. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the website securely under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5Services and processors

We manage without third-party embeds: fonts, icons and images sit on our own servers instead of being fetched from Google or others when you open a page. Your IP address therefore reaches no third party. For operations and payment we rely on four providers:

Cloudflare delivers this website (Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Munich, with Cloudflare, Inc., USA). Technical access data is processed. A data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses is in place; Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Stripe handles payments (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin). You enter your payment details directly with Stripe — we never see card numbers. What reaches us is name, email address, amount and payment status. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
All-Inkl sends the newsletter confirmation emails (ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich GmbH, Friedersdorf). Your email address is processed in the course of this. Servers and processing are located in Germany. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent).
Hetzner runs the servers of the le’Chef app (Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen), exclusively in Germany. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

We use no other services. Should that change, it will appear here before the change takes effect.

6Newsletter

All we need for the newsletter is your email address. We additionally store the time and language of the sign-up, your browser identification and a checksum (SHA-256) computed from your IP address and the date. These serve solely as proof that the sign-up came from you.

The sign-up only takes effect once you confirm it (confirmed opt-in). The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time — via the unsubscribe link in every message or informally to info@lechef.ai. After withdrawal we send nothing further. Your address remains stored as a suppression entry — otherwise anyone could sign it up again. We delete it entirely on request to info@lechef.ai.

8Data Processing in the App

When using the le’Chef app, the following data is processed:

Account data: email address, username (upon registration)
Usage data: saved recipes, favorites, cooking history
Preferences: dietary preferences, allergies, intolerances
Photos: only when using ingredient recognition (processed locally)

AI features in the app are provided via GDPR-compliant providers with processing in the EU; input is used exclusively to deliver the relevant function and is never used for advertising or to train third-party models.

Data from the le’Chef app is processed in compliance with the GDPR on servers in Germany (Hetzner). This website is provided via Cloudflare's infrastructure; payment processing is handled via Stripe. Your data is not sold to third parties.
